Administration & Finance Worker

Location – Rosebud

The Southern Peninsula Community Support and Information Centre (SPCSIC) is inviting applications for the paid position of Administration & Finance Worker.

SPCSIC is a community based support, referral and information service aimed at supporting and encouraging individuals and families to be independent and aware of their rights. SPCSIC is staffed by a team of committed and skilled volunteers, and small team of paid workers.

SPCSIC is looking for an Administration & Finance Worker 4 days per week (flexible).  The Administration & Finance Worker coordinates and delivers Financial and Administrative tasks at SPCSIC.  The role covers 9 key areas

  1. Fund-seeking Activities
  2. Financial Reporting and Administration
  3. Payroll & Human Resources Administration
  4. General Administration
  5. OH&S oversight
  6. Community Information Management and Administration
  7. Building, Equipment and Resources Administration
  8. Coordinate IT requirements across the organisation (using contracted technical staff to deliver)
  9. General Centre Operations

This position is allocated 30 hours per week, delivered over 4 days.  There is flexibility around days and hours make up.  Given the diversity of the role SPCSIC is willing to consider job sharing, role splitting or other solutions to deliver these key areas.  If you believe you can undertake some, but not all of these tasks, over less hours, SPCSIC will still consider your application. If this is the case, please identify which areas you are applying for and the hours you would like to work.  An agreement will be made prior to appointment with the successful candidate/s as to the final delivery of hours.

Applicants should ideally possess demonstrated experience in most of the 9 key areas as well as

  • Strong maths, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent oral communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with relevant internal and
  • external stakeholders clearly
  • Technologically savvy and the ability to design and implement effective systems and practices
  • Independently manage time, prioritising and planning work to meet set timelines. This includes demonstrated experience in being able to cope with periods of constant change
  • Demonstrated experience with Cashflow, Reckon (or like accounting systems), general ledger and payroll software
  • Strong computer and keyboard skills

It is also desirable that applicants possess

  • Academic qualifications in commerce, accounting, business or an equivalent discipline
  • Good understanding of issues relating to community based and not-for-profit organisations

Salary is commensurate with the Salary based on Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry (SCHCDSI) Award 2010 Social and community services employee Level 4 or 5.  Levels and pay points will be dependent on experience.  Access to salary packaging arrangements can add further value to the remuneration.
