The Position

St John of God Frankston Hospital is a 69 bed rehabilitation hospital in Frankston. Our programs include Orthopaedic, Neurological, Cardiac, Pulmonary, Oncology, Trauma, Pain Management, Musculoskeletal, Parkinson’s and general Rehabilitation Programs. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Registered Nurse to join our committed leadership team in the provision of assisting the Nurse Unit Manager in the overall clinical management of the ward and supervision of care given by junior staff.

We are seeking someone motivated and enthusiastic with proven leadership qualities that will be able to excel in the facilitation of high quality, compassionate and distinctive care in a changing health environment.

This position is a permanent part time role, working 58 hours per fortnight across a variety of early and late day shifts.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Ability to work within and contribute to the Mission & Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Effective communication skills, demonstrate and support professional accountability
  • Ability to educate support and mentor patients, family and caregivers
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Team Model of Care.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Patient centered approach to care.
  • Commitment to and understanding of continuous quality improvement
  • IVC/IDC/Venipuncture competent
  • Recent experience in rehabilitation nursing including FIM credentialed
