About the business & the role

The Business Events Officer is part of the Tourism Services Team who play a key role in supporting our tourism industry. The role is responsible for liaising with the Mornington Peninsula Regional Tourism Board to implement marketing initiatives that promote and facilitate business events on the Mornington Peninsula. The position is 0.5 permanent part-time.

Job Tasks

The Business Events Officer will act as the primary point of contact for all activity relating to Business Events Mornington Peninsula.

Key activities will include:

  • Develop & project manage business event, marketing and product development projects
  • Actively engage with industry to promote and grow business events tourism
  • Provide input and implement activities that align with the MPRTB Events Strategy
  • Undertake research on the business events sector and marketing activities
  • Develop and implement collection and collation of relevant industry data

Qualifications & experience

  • Proven experience in managing projects to timelines and budget
  • Ability to engage with service providers and businesses
  • Position requires at least 5 years of experience in tourism marketing
  • A tertiary degree in Tourism, Business or Marketing is required
