Job Description

We are looking for a carer to look after our nearly 3 year old son Theo, who has special needs.
The night shifts available are on
Thursday 10.30pm to 8am, and Friday 10.30pm to 6.30am.
-Must have experience with children and preferably medical experience, how ever this isn’t necessarily if you have a keen interest, and pick up new skills easily.
-We are looking for someone who would like to be part of our family for at least a year, who is flexible, reliable, shows common sense, can act in emergencies, is resilient, on call if needed, is able to problem solve and forms a trusting bond with our son.
-Theo has a Tracheotomy and a esophagostomy. Maintaining his airway and his esophagostomy bag are of high importance, training through the Royal children’s hospital with a trained nurse is given.
-The organisation with in the Royal Children’s hospital, that organises the restbite is called family Choice. They use an agency called Lifestyles.
We are also allocated respite through another agency called Charlton Brown.
We would require the carer to join both agencies, to ensure all hours can be covered through out the week.
