The GPO stands as a market leader in casual dining in Rosebud and is well respected on the Peninsula. We have a capacity of 125+ seats and pride ourselves on fantastic casual food in a relaxed and unpretentious environment. We have recently refurbished and re branded and revived this great business and are experiencing an aggressive upward trend in business and therefore require great people to join us. A new bespoke function room for 40-60 people will be completed prior to Christmas.
A new dynamic share menu has set the peninsula alight along with a progression towards smoking meats and a Tex Mex feel along with our traditional gastro pub menu.
We are pitched at the food savvy clientele that funnel through the area each weekend whilst exploring the great vineyards and restaurants of Red Hill and surrounds, the many world class golf courses in the area and the Peninsula Hot Springs.
We are open 7 days a week with lunch and dinner. Breakfast from 8 am Saturday and Sunday.
As the hours are flexible 30-45 you may be working in surrounding vineyard restaurants and wish to top up your income with a few nights a week or look to a more full time role (both positions exist.)
Job tasks and responsibilities
We are looking for a chef with great skill, flare, organisation, who has the ability to work both under supervision and lead in the absence of a senior chef. Ability to train and motivate others including apprentices.
Skills and experience
The successful applicant will be fully qualified with at least a few years experience in a similar role. They will be versatile and capable of working in all sections of the kitchen. Great communication skills even under pressure are expected and personal presentation will reflect your professional approach to Hospitality.
