Job Description

Mornington Yacht Club is located in a most picturesque part of Port Phillip Bay and provides excellent facilities for yachting and social activities and for all ages . It is an active club and continues to grow since being established in 1946.

About the role
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer has responsibility for the operational management and development of Mornington Yacht Club (MYC) including the day-to-day management of staff, sailing, membership and finance.

The Chief Executive Officer will need to be able to balance responsibility for the operational management and development of Mornington Yacht Club (MYC), whilst having a strong presence and profile around the club and with members.

Major components of the role include the provision of:

  • High quality service to MYC members and the development of community and professional relationships
  • Financial management aimed at increasing profitability and financial performance and budget management
  • Development and management of catering, boat yard and sail training contracts
  • Staffing, policy and procedures development
  • Development of training and participation programs
  • Management of Licensing Agreements MYC has with service providers including but not exclusive catering and Yard & marina management services , Sail training and on water skills training.)
  • Marketing, sponsorship, merchandise and business plan development
  • Asset maintenance
