Job Description

If you’ve worked in Family Violence before, you’ll be aware that one in four Australian women has experienced physical or sexual violence by an intimate partner, and that on average, one Australian woman is killed each week by a current of former partner. That’s 52 women a year! Family Violence is a major cause of homelessness, financial hardship and poor mental and physical health for women, and more than half of these women have children in their care.

Responding to 11 recommendations from the Royal Commission into Family Violence, the Family Violence Protection Amendment Bill 2017 will increase the protections for women and children in response to Family Violence.

We are working with a well-known organisation with a focus on providing safety and support for women and children and they are growing their Bayside Peninsula Family Violence Program. This program provides case management, court support, refuges, and Project Alexis response to name a few. With further funding provided for the Family Violence Program, we are looking for a Children’s Case Manager for their Mornington Office.

This position provides children’s case management and parenting support to families escaping family violence, who have been referred for refuge accommodation. This role will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessments of children’s safety, stability and development through a trauma informed framework. The case manager will develop agreed case plans through a coordinated care team approach as well as, coordinating client ‘family’ camps and school holiday children’s group activities.
This organisation has some fantastic benefits for their employees, such as:

  • Full time and part time (0.8) working options
  • Flexible working hours
  • Salary packaging
  • Gifted leave during Christmas and Easter
  • Study leave and Cultural leave
  • The ability to purchase extra annual leave
  • Employee Assistance Program

In this role you will be well supported and there are plenty of professional development and training opportunities. This position plays an important role in the organisation’s work towards creating an emotionally and physically safe world for women and girls. Upon joining this organisation, you’ll have your voice heard and you’ll be part of an inclusive team where you will truly be valued personally and professionally.
