About the business & role

Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Sport and Leisure team is seeking to appoint an experienced and qualified individual to undertake the role of Duty Manager at its Pelican Park Recreation Centre located in Hastings and/or its Crib Point Pool.

Job Tasks & Responsibilities

You will be a pivotal part of our team and required to perform a range of duties associated with usage and maintenance of aquatic facilities to ensure the safety and orderly behavior of patrons and the clean, hygienic and safe condition of all facilities.

Skills & Experience

The successful applicant will:

  • provide exceptional customer service
  • be an effective communicator
  • be able to lead and manage staff and have operational knowledge of pool plant and maintenance
  • have previous experience in a recreational facility and in a supervisory role (essential)
  • have a current Level 2 First Aid Certificate, an Accredited Pool Lifeguard Certificate from Lifesaving Victoria, an Austswim qualification, a Fire Warden qualification, an Asthma qualification and a defibrillation certificate (essential)
  • have a recreation industry tertiary qualification, a Gym/Group Fitness qualification and customer service experience (desirable)
  • have a valid Employee Working with Children Check (essential)
  • be prepared to undertake an Australian Criminal History Check (essential)
  • hold a valid Driver’s Licence (essential)
