Job Description

Connecting Skills Australia recognises individual abilities and works with individuals to achieve their goals

About Us

Connecting Skills Australia (CSA) is a community service organisation which is committed to providing services that enhance the lives of individuals. Our organisation takes pride in proactively supporting people with disabilities and from disadvantaged backgrounds to live full and active lives within their community.

With a strong leadership base and solid corporate governance structures, CSA is a focused and responsive organisation that delivers quality services. Our Strategic Blueprint 2020 is our roadmap to success within an environment of NDIS.

We have approximately 300 customers, supported employees across 9 Victorian locations. We have been operating for over 60 years and continue to experience growth.

Our steady growth is a direct result of our high performing, committed and passionate staff and in particular our commercially-minded, progressive and strategic direction.  It’s an exciting time to join CSA as we embark on some major changes that will facilitate continued organisational growth and the expansion of our services.
About the positions
As a result of our continued growth, we currently have a vacancy within our organisation, based across Frankston and Mornington. The position is working in our “Connect 2 Community” (C2C) program, focused on the integration of adults with a disability into the community.

By working as a C2C Facilitator, you are offered the chance to work closely with our clients; to genuinely understand their goals and then to assist them to achieve meaningful outcomes. You will help clients as their needs dictate and will plan and develop pathways to lead them to fulfilling and stable goals. You will see the potential rather than the limitations in people and will be committed to the achievement of real and meaningful outcomes.

In return you will be provided with comprehensive induction and support, as well as the chance to work in a commercial and progressive not-for-profit. This is a real opportunity for you to work autonomously and develop your career.

About you
You are mature-minded and confident. You have strong interpersonal skills and have a positive and collegiate approach when working in a team and liaising with clients, co-workers and stakeholders. You are confident and respectful when delivering content and leading a group in a learning environment. You have a robust work ethic and high level of resilience coupled by a good sense of humour, which you have fine tuned through sound experience in similar roles. You are empathetic, insightful and able to listen without judgement. You are genuinely committed to a whole-of-life approach to the support needed for people to live more independently and work towards achieving their goals. Above all you understand the need to empower your clients, rather than to limit their potential.
Please note that you must be able to meet the following criteria:

  • Successful completion of Certificate IV in Disability
  • Successful completion and current first aid & CPR certification
  • You must also be prepared to undergo a police check and Working with Childrens Check if deemed necessary.

Does it tick all the boxes?

  • A rewarding role with a progressive business
  • A strong focus on organisational culture and development
  • Passionate colleagues who care about what they do
  • The chance to make a visible difference in the lives of people with disabilities and their families
  • SE suburban location

Then this could be the role you’ve been waiting for!
APPLY NOW by submitting your Cover and Resume and be part of something great.

Application Closing Date: COB Thursday 30th June
