Job Description

The Bays Hospital Group is a vibrant and valuable community-owned organisation serving the Mornington Peninsula and meeting the growing needs of the community it serves. In addition to the 98 bed Acute hospital in Mornington, a key component of The Bays is their 75 bed Aged Care facility in Hastings, which has exciting plans to redevelop and expand to 90 beds in 2016.

As GM Aged Care Services you will report to the CEO, with accountability for the leadership and operation of the Aged Care Services division of The Bays Hospital Group.  Major responsibilities will embrace person-centred Client Care, Leadership & Management, Education & Staff Development, OH&S, Quality & Risk Management.

Your goal will be to achieve integrated Aged Care services through providing best practice services for the elderly, establishing new community-based Aged Care services and developing palliative care alternatives.  Operating under a matrix structure, with nursing and direct care managed locally, you will be able to draw upon the Group to provide services such as payroll, finance and HR.

As a member of the Group Executive Team you will participate in and support overall Group activities, and have the opportunity to be involved in the design of the new residential facilities on adjoining land, which will ultimately take total capacity to 120 residents over the next few years.

For this Executive leadership position you must be a Registered Nurse Div 1 with AHPRA registration and possibly have qualifications in Business/Management. You will need significant experience in a senior management role in residential Aged Care and thorough knowledge of Aged Care accreditation and funding systems. An understanding of community home care would be well regarded.

If you are a proven Aged Care leader and a genuine ‘people person’ PLEASE APPLY or call Philip Mayers/Michelle Varcoe on 03 9629 6999.
