Toddler Kindy GymbaROO is an internationally recognised leader in Early Childhood Development programs.

The program is based on current worldwide research on how the brain develops through predictable, sequential early childhood movement patterns. These foundations which are laid down from birth enable children to reach their full potential in learning when they go to kindergarten and school.

You will be given specific GymbaROO training and also have access to ongoing professional development.

During training you may be working alongside the teacher at another centre – as an extra staff member one day per week. This will allow you to be mentored in the GymbaROO program and gain the skills necessary to run the program.
The teaching position is offered at the Mornington GymbaROO centre – day/s of operation to be determined.

Classes operate between 0900 and 1500 for 10 weeks every school term (as per the Victorian Education Department timetable).

The program consists of climbing time on specially designed GymbaROO equipment and mat time which includes exercises, massage, small equipment skills, dance, language skills, parachute games and rhythm activities. These programs are provided for you to follow as they have been very carefully designed.

You will be working with babies and children in classes as follows:

  • Non mobile babies from 6 weeks of age
  • Mobile babies
  • 12 to 18 months
  • 18 months to 2 years
  • 2 to 2.5 years
  • 2.5 to 3 years
  • 3 to 5 years

As a GymbaROO teacher you will be teaching all of these age groups and their appropriate programs. The parents are doing the activities with their child and are guided by you, the teacher.

There is also an opportunity to buy into the business if this is desired by you.

To apply for this position you MUST have the following:

At least a 3 year Tertiary Qualification (University degree or equivalent)
Enjoy physical education and music based activities
Excellent communication skills with both adults and young children
Positive outlook on life
Enthusiasm
Work well in a team
Able to be organised and keep to time

Staff are paid on a per class casual basis.

Initial pay while training (as required) will be at assistant rates: $22 per class.

A fully qualified teachers’ rate is paid once you are teaching a class begins at $26 per class and $30 per class after one year.

GymbaROO staff don’t feel that they have a “job”. We get to go to work and have fun all day.
