Head Chef required for one of Morningtons busiest and most successful restaurants. An Opportunity to take the reigns and run all operational management for a busy kitchen.

Mi Mexiko is one of Mornington’s most popular and busiest restaurants. Established in 2016 by experienced Restaurateurs the business continues to thrive and excel in its specialty market. Striving for excellence in all facets of the restaurant is our priority. Our food is fresh, simple and reflects the style of food you would expect to see in Mexico.

As we enter the busy summer season on the Peninsula we are now seeking an experienced Chef to take the reigns and run the kitchen operations of Mi Mexiko. Working with the Group Executive Chef, the Head Chef will manage all facets of operations including but not limited to; menu design, costing and execution, supplier management and ordering, staff leadership and recruitment, setting kitchen standards and managing all regulatory requirements. You will also work to budgets for food and rosters.

This exciting role may suit someone who is a Head Chef currently and is seeking a change or it may be an opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to take the next step up in your career. Essential to your success is your experience as a passionate and driven chef who can manage a busy kitchen and service. You are a natural people leader who can motivate and train staff. You are excited about menu design and creating new dishes that excite the customers but are also cost effective.

In return you will have the opportunity to lead a popular restaurant during its busiest period, to build a team of chefs to deliver your vision as well as working with an experienced Executive Chef while you transition to take over the entire operational management of the kitchen. This is a permanent, full-time role that will require evening work and weekends. A competitive salary will be on offer for the right person.
