Job Description

The Company

This organisation boasts one of the largest and advanced production facilities in Australia and leads their market with both home grown and traditional brands. At the forefront of both retail and foodservice sectors, they are currently looking for a Manufacturing Manager to drive World Class manufacturing standards and methods to increase productivity and processes as the organisation aims to increase volume, capacity, yield, margin delivery and quality.

The Role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Director, your key focus will be to lead a large manufacturing team in producing an iconic Australian product range. The team is enthusiastic, hungry and willing to embrace continuous improvement. The ideal leader will bring passion, hunger and enthusiasm with a focus on people, process and engagement.
You will also be required to bring technical and analytical manufacturing expertise, combined with a fresh approach to Good Manufacturing Practice, whilst spearheading a strong safety culture. As an integral part of the leadership team, the Manufacturing Manager will play a critical role in training and mentoring the existing team and ensure that overall best practise is achieved, ideally utilising LEAN methodologies.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will be tertiary qualified in Manufacturing, Engineering or a related discipline with a successful track record in manufacturing leadership and implementation of continuous improvement strategy, preferably from within a unionised food manufacturing environment. With a minimum of 5 years’ experience leading large cross-functional teams across production, maintenance and planning, they will have strengths across manufacturing strategy, change management, modern LEAN philosophies, plant finance and industrial relations (IR). The right candidate will be a strong, collaborative hands-on team player and leader with the ability to step back and let the team thrive. Excellent communication, presentation and reporting skills at all levels required.
