Our Client is a not-for profit community managed mental health service supporting those experiencing mild to moderate mental illness to those with a severe mental illness and complex needs.
Our client’s service model incorporates the ‘Victorian framework for recovery orientated practice 2011 and the National Mental Health Standards 2010.
McArthur are currently recruiting a Mental Health Social Worker for the Mornington Peninsula area. You will be providing psychological interventions to people with mild to moderate mental illness. The service is targeted at people who cannot access private psychological services and your main focus in this role are people who are experiencing homelessness, people who have experienced family violence and people with substance abuse disorders.
Experience undertaking comprehensive mental state, psychosocial functional and physical assessment of clients is required. You will need to formulate individual service plans for clients, work collaboratively with the client’s family, carers and supports and make referrals to other services in the best interest of the clients.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Mental Health or community setting is required to be successful in this role. You will also need to display a sound theoretical knowledge of evidence based focused psychological strategies and well developed needs, risk and safety assessment skills.
Great communication, both written and verbal with a high level of client engagement skills is essential.
