Payroll Officer 

(Parental Leave Cover)

An exciting career opportunity exists for a Payroll Officer to join our team at Peninsula Hot Springs, who will be responsible for effectively and accurately processing end to end in-house payroll. This is a 7-month fixed term full-time (flexible) role, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The role commences July 1st 2019.

In addition, your role will encompass the following accountabilities:

  • Effectively and accurately coordinate end to end in-house payroll processing
  • Responsible for accurately reporting on weekly and monthly payroll and leave entitlements
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations (e.g.: Superannuation Guarantee, Australian Taxation Office, State Taxes, etc.)
  • Assisting with month-end processes such as the preparation and reconciliation of superannuation, payroll tax and PAYG obligations
  • Effectively dealing with payroll queries from employees
  • Assisting in month end reporting procedures
  • Providing administrative support to the Finance functions, data analysis using Excel, and other ancillary clerical tasks.

The perfect profile

You will have proven experience in end to end payroll, with knowledge of relevant payroll legislation and regulations. You have the ability to interpret Awards and employee agreements and possess at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role. Your strong communication skills allow you to easily interact with internal and external stakeholders.

You possess a strong understanding of numerical and data entry skills, along with strong attention to detail and exceptional time management skills. You are able to work unsupervised, utilising your initiative to solve problems and create better ways of working.

Experience using HR3 payroll and Time Target is highly desirable.
