Job Description

Our Client is a not-for profit community managed mental health service supporting those experiencing mild to moderate mental illness to those with a severe mental illness and complex needs.

Our client’s service model incorporates the ‘Victorian framework for recovery orientated practice 2011 and the National Mental Health Standards 2010.

McArthur are recruiting a credentialed Mental Health Nurse for a Program Manger role in Clinical services. The role will be responsible for Clinical leadership of staff and contractors from varying allied health, nursing and psychiatry backgrounds and for the clinical component of the intake service.

You will also carry a clinical load and work with the care coordinators and family and support liaison officers to support clients to access the full range of requirements across the care continuum including psychiatry.

We require candidates with proven experience in clinical governance and leadership, previous experience managing clinical staff and teams and demonstrated experience in mental health risk assessment, crisis planning, relapse preventions, recovery planning and Psycho education.

The successful applicant will also possess strong interpersonal and team skills, along with the ability to work with a high level of autonomy and exercise professional decision making skills.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Clinical leadership, supervision, reviews
  • Team leadership and management of the mental health team
  • Ensure service delivery is of high quality to both clients and others
  • Contribute to a healthy and safe workplace
  • Abide by service’s policies and procedures
  • Ensure service targets and budgets are adhered to
  • Good working knowledge of Mental Health symptoms, diagnosis, treatments and interventions
  • Good knowledge of regional mental health and general health providers
  • Implement own professional development and undertake annual performance appraisals
  • Ensure reports and HR responsibilities are of high standard and with the set time frames

Requirements:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications – minimum Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
  • Current and ongoing registration with AHPRA and accredited with ACMHN
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Current WWCC
  • Willing to undertake National Police Check
