Job Description

Woodleigh School’s dedicated grounds staff are looking for a new member to join their team.

This is a full-time position, starting immediately.

Overview of Responsibilities

General Maintenance

  • To keep the school outdoor environment in a healthy, clean, safe and secure state at all times
  • To be available to staff in promptly attending to breakdowns or maintenance requirements
  • Assist with fixing and/or installing equipment and fixtures in classrooms
  • Assist with the maintenance of electrics to include changing of light bulbs and checking of leads
  • To assist with the regular disposal of rubbish and waste
  • To assist with regular checks and maintenance to the buildings including the roof, timber structures and windows for any rotting (prevention of leakages, termite control) and toilet areas
  • To routinely check water tanks and guttering, and heating system during winter
  • To maintain school vehicles and equipment
  • To assist in the maintenance of the property to include paddocks, orchard and when applicable, the cottage and farmhouse

Grounds

  • To be responsible for mowing / slashing of the property
  • Poison garden edging and boundaries as required
  • Daily checking of animals including cleaning where required
  • Tree maintenance and wood stacking
  • Other duties as specified by the Maintenance Coordinators

Projects

  • i.e. Fencing
  • Development of seating areas
  • Garden edging using timber sleepers
  • Building small-scale structures i.e. playground equipment, horse shelters
  • Basic renovating and project management of building developments
  • Farm development as required

Property & Ground Support across all three campuses (in consultation with the Maintenance Coordinators)
