Job Description

The Red Hill Baker Balnarring is looking to fill 3 key roles in our growing team, a Providore Attendant, Cook/Kitchen Hand and a Baker. We are a family run business on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, halfway between Flinders and Hastings. Our Café and Providore is jam packed full of a great variety of fresh  local, Australian and International gourmet products and we make all of our own bread, gourmet pies and cakes!

Providore/ Fresh Food Shop Attendant
Minimum 25 hours per week (Will fluctuate upward dependent in the summer months)

We are looking for a ‘Foodie’ to fill a key role in our Providore, who will be able to have personable conversations with our customers, and provide expert advice on products which are the best fit for the customer’s needs.

This role will be responsible for

  • Serving and assisting customers who enter the Providore
  • Providing knowledge and advice to customers buying products where appropriate
  • Ensuring the Providore is well presented and stocked at all times
  • Rotation of stock (Ensuring out-of-date stock is deposed of in a timely manner and correctly)
  • Maintaining OHS

The ideal candidate will

  • Have a genuine passion for food
  • Have Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team
  • Be personable and able to hold a genuine conversation
  • A show care and can do attitude
  • Ability to work in a faced paced environment
  • Flexibility to work differing hours, weekends, public holidays and over the summer months

Previous customer service experience will be looked at favourably, however is not required as training will be provided

Cook/Kitchen Hand

Minimum 27 hours per week (Will fluctuate upward dependent in the summer months)

We are looking for a versatile cook/ kitchen hand who is able to learn quickly, work under pressure and produce great food for our customers to enjoy.

This role will be responsible for

  • Prepare and cook food as ordered
  • Developing and maintain detailed knowledge of the menu
  • Ensuring kitchen facilities are clean and functional
  • Regulate food quality, monitoring temperatures and used by dates
  • Maintaining OHS

The ideal candidate will

  • Have a genuine passion for food
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have great attention to detail
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team
  • A show care and can do attitude
  • Be local to the Mornington Peninsula area
  • Ability to work in a faced paced environment
  • Flexibility to work differing/ increased hours, weekends, public holidays and over the summer months

Previous cook/ kitchen hand experience will be looked at favourably, however is not required as training will be provided.

Baker

Minimum 25 hours per week (Will fluctuate upward dependent in the summer months)

We are looking for an individual with a can do attitude and who possesses great attention to detail who is willing and able to learn how to bake from the best!

This role will be responsible for

  • Producing great tasting bread in line with procedures
  • Working with other bakers to ensure a high standard of product
  • Working to a production schedule to prepare bread from scratch
  • Operating mixers and other equipment
  • Maintaining OHS

The ideal candidate will

  •  Have a genuine passion for food
  •  Have excellent communication skills
  •  Have great attention to detail
  •  Ability to work both autonomously and within a team
  •  A show care and can do attitude
  •  Be local to the Mornington Peninsula area
  •  Ability to work in a faced paced environment
  •  Flexibility to work differing/ increased hours, weekends, public holidays and over the summer months

Previous baking experience will be looked at favourably, however is not required as training will be provided.
