Job Description

Iconic Bass Coast business
Always “mighty helpful”

  • Drive change and retail performance
  • Build a better team
  • Contribute to business strategy and development

Long established building supply group with esteemed local profile looking to “structure up” in the face of growing competition. Make this your opportunity to forge a genuine career with local status and broad industry cred.

Retail leadership, team empowerment & commercial acumen are the hallmarks we’re after. Your experience could be from DIY, building supply, discount department stores or even supermarkets but you must have strong operational credentials that deliver better bottom line outcomes with an acute customer focus. Previous multi-site or area management experience will be well regarded but is not essential. If you’re a senior manager ready to take the next step we should be talking too.

Here is your opportunity to really make a difference. As the Retail Operations Manager you will provide leadership and instil confidence working hand-in-glove with the CEO to deliver strategic objectives and a better bottom line. We’re really keen to make best use of your operational excellence and team leadership credentials. Preferably, these skills will come from a hardware or hardgoods background but it’s not necessarily a deal breaker. Established operational credentials from any big format / large team retail environment could fit the bill.

Here are some “must haves”:

  • Commercial insight and business acumen that can be substantiated
  • Team leadership of 40-50 team members, or more
  • A history of empowering and motivating your team in a way that gets results
  • Willingly embrace, manage and drive change in a retail or trade focused environment
  • A commitment to exceed customer expectations
  • A passion to find a better way going forward

Let’s be clear – it’s a complex role where you will lead and manage, you will grow the business, you will engage and empower the whole team, and everyone will deliver service excellence that is all about the customer. And you will do all this very profitably.

If this sounds like the challenge you’re after then we’re keen to talk. As a first step, please contact Paul Fetterplace on 0408 535 941 or simply apply NOW.  We will get back to you – that’s a promise.
