Senior Intake and Assessment role with Child FIRST, based in Frankston and Windsor, supported by formal supervision and tight knit team.

In July 2015, there was an amalgamation of the Inner Middle and Frankston Mornington Peninsula catchments to form the Bayside Peninsula Child and Family Information, Referral and Support Teams (FIRST) Alliance.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Senior Child FIRST Worker to join the Bayside Peninsula Child FIRST Team, based at Anglicare Frankston (4 days a week) and Connections Windsor (1 day per fortnight).

Working with a close knit team, your day will be busy receiving referrals into the Child FIRST service, conducting home visits, providing information and advice to referrers, offering crisis intervention, undertaking risk and needs assessments, preparing reports and case notes and developing collaborative relationships with other agencies.

Please address the following Key Selection criteria in your application, either online, or in your cover letter:

  • Summarise your qualifications that need to include a degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related tertiary qualification relevant to child and family welfare
  • Demonstrate your ability by describing examples  of your experience as a practitioner in the child, youth and family welfare field
  • Describe your understanding and use of the ‘Best Interests’ framework and CYFA 2005
  • Demonstrate your ability by describing examples of how you have actively engaged families, in a difficult or stressful context, over the phone and by outreach.
  • Describe the types of written reports and case notes you have prepared and the feedback on the quality and timeliness of these that you have received
  • Provide examples of how you have used and developed your verbal communication skills in your professional practice
  • Summarise the time management and organisational tools that you use, particularly when facing deadlines and pressure from different clients and stakeholders.   What feedback have you received and used in improving your organisational skills?
