Job Description

We are Mornington’s busiest authentic Mexican restaurant and we are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team. Mi Mexiko has been open now for almost two years and we continue to grow in popularity and maintain a busy demand throughout the summer and winter periods.

Situated on the bustling beach end of Main Street, we are a 90 seat restaurant open seven nights a week and open for lunch on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.

Our food is inspired by authentic Mexican Street food and we source our produce from local suppliers where possible. We aim for high quality and our food is renowned for being fresh and full of flavour.

Reporting to our Head Chef, you will be responsible for maintaining a high quality of product during service, food preparation, ordering of goods and management of food safety and hygiene procedures. In addition you will mentor and train the younger members of the team and contribute your ideas and recipes to our menu, which changes up to three times a year.

This is a full time position and will require a person who is available to work weekends and evenings. A salary package is negotiable and will depend on your experience.

Please contact us directly on 03 5976 0024 and speak to our Head Chef or Executive Chef or call into our venue to see us in person. Alternatively you can apply using the link below.
