Job for Strategic Transport Planner, Regional North, permanent role,

Your new company
This regional council, located in the strategic northern transport corridor of Victoria, is the hub for the developing integrated transport network that will service both regional and metropolitan Melbourne. As the strategic plans start to get underway, the need for a dedicated Strategic Transport planner, to join the team has become increasingly evident.

Your new role
You will be the dedicated planning expert who will be running with this project, being the liaison between the various councils, state government department and external stakeholders. Your day to day will see you reviewing the current proposals and working on the continued community and stakeholder liaison for the project. You will be reviewing and amending the land use proposals and current transport infrastructure upgrades to ensure ongoing sustainability.

What you’ll need to succeed
As an experienced transport planner you will be looking for a role that will have a broad project focus, working with the other members of the planning teams but in a standalone capacity as the sole in-house expert. You will have the ability to work integrated models and forecast traffic volumes and capacities to work the data into the long term strategic plan for the area model. With an in-depth understanding of land use planning on both a strategic but also a statutory level, you will jump straight into the role and really drive the project forward.

What you’ll get in return
Working in a regional area, you will be shaping the area in which you live. With the opportunity and willingness to provide sponsorship, this council is flexible and open to applicants from both interstate and overseas, which provides a great opportunity to move to Victoria, the most rapidly expanding state in Australia.
