  • Have you been a relief or assistant store manager of a large chain supermarket and seeking to further your career?
  • Perhaps you have been a supermarket store manager in a metropolitan area and seeking a sea or tree change but still within an hour of Melbourne?

This is a great opportunity for an experienced supermarket store manager or relief/assistant store manager who has managed large volume sales, with an emphasis on fresh food.  With a strong community focus you will be able to display your excellent business management skills whilst being a positive influence on staff to deliver exemplary customer service to the local community.

The store manager will ensure ticketing/pricing is accurate, stock levels are maintained, staff are coached and mentored to achieve and policies and procedures are adhered to.  Other responsibilities include:

  • Involvement in local community and being the ‘face’ of the company at a local level
  • Managing a high volume turnover
  • Achieving budgeted sales, gross profit and wage targets whilst driving sales and mentoring staff to take part in goals
  • Problem solving in store but also be able to provide ideas for the company
  • Meeting all legislative requirements in regard to compliance/audit standards
  • Uphold all policies and procedures including loss prevention, OH&S and legislative policies
  • Manage, mentor and coach the team including Department Managers
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders such as support staff, suppliers and customers, for the highest results
  • HR functions such as recruitment, training and performance management
  • Recognising and celebrating successes at store level
  • Be available for alternating rosters including every second Saturday and some public holidays

In return the successful applicant will be offered a total salary package of $75,000 to $100,000 according to skills and experience.  Relocation assistance and career development is also available.
