Phillip Island and Inverloch are leading Australian tourist destinations offering a variety of visitor experiences. They feature natural beauty including wetlands, rural countryside, wide-open beaches and bushland reserves. Home to world-renowned events and attractions including the Penguin Parade, Motorcycle Grand Prix and V8 Supercars.
Bass Coast Shire Council is seeking 3 x Casual Visitor Services Officers to work as part of the Tourism team between November and January. As great communicators with a passion for customer service, the successful applicants will be responsible for ensuring that each of our visitors enjoys everything that Bass Coast has to offer. Your friendly and enthusiastic personality, combined with your local knowledge, computer skills and your ability to work in a busy environment will help you succeed in this role.
Visitor Services Officers provide advice to visitors on places to visit and stay while they are in our region. Visitor Services Officers also process attraction tickets and accommodation bookings along with retail sales.
These positions will be based at the Phillip Island or Inverloch Visitor Information Centres.
The hours for these positions are ad hoc and are based on the needs of the organisation. Shifts can range from four to eight hours and are generally worked between 9:00am and 6:00pm Monday to Sunday.
Regular weekend and Public Holiday work will be required across the summer and availability across Monday-Sunday is essential.
