Bookkeeper
Company: Land Engineering
Location: Hastings, Victoria, Australia
Position Type: Full-time (5 days per week) with flexible working conditions/hours
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Reporting to: Office Manager
Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking for an opportunity to join a small friendly team in the heart of Hastings? Land Engineering, a family-owned leading civil construction company, is seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to help us manage and support our finance department. We also endeavor to operate a paperless office. This role offers flexible working conditions and hours, with all working patterns considered to accommodate your needs. We are also an ISO Accredited Company.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Financial Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the company, ensuring all transactions are recorded and organized.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and debt collection. (including some data entry).
3. Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliation to ensure that financial statements are in sync with actual account balances.
4. Payroll: Exposure to the operations of running weekly payroll. (Only backup support is required).
5. Financial Reporting: Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for monthly management review.
6. Up to date with the latest ATO requirements.
7. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and assist with tax filings, including BAS and GST.
8. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the Office Manager to develop and monitor company budgets and financial forecasts.
9. Financial Analysis: Provide financial insights to support decision-making and strategy development within the organisation.
10. Ad Hoc Tasks: Assist in various financial and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Exposure to the Reckon financial system.
• CPA qualifications (not essential but desirable)
• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role (Ideally Construction or Civil Works).
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
